Started at Cal for my BS degree, studied Chemistry & Data Science, worked in nanocatalysts & for Jupyter.
Not remembering anything unintentionally started my journey into design (sticky notes became my 1st language).
Managed edtech & health products and even subbed at local high schools to better understand my users!
Scrambled in pre-seed VC at K50 Ventures (mostly in Education), before joining Lux Capital, focusing on Gen Z.
Got my first job as a lifeguard to help family make ends meet, started college at Cal, and submitted a patent while working at GM!
Took my first engineering course and absolutely fell in love with creating new things. Started contributing to open source projects.
Started mentoring young people @ Soccer Without Borders and helped navigate life for many lost in my community and family.
Came down with startup fever after the Segment acq and working for Brex in high-growth mode.
MENARRC flew me up to Berkeley to visit Cal and meet other minority students.
Took my first computer science class & fell in love with building. Made a career path switch from law school to building software.
Hustled in college; drove golf carts for disabled students, managed the library’s front desk, and interned at Skycatch & Veritas.
Mentored underrepresented students from acceptance to Cal to graduation, seeing the need for a tool like Gajo!
Discovered graphic design from clubs in HS + college! Made social media graphics & print materials to practice & just have fun.
Entered as pre-law & joined a lot of clubs. Started questioning whether law school was for me given I was doing design work in all my orgs & on-campus jobs.
Interned at a law firm & realized I wanted to do something more creative! Joined BI junior year.
Started bringing the idea to life while working at my full-time job as a product designer at a publishing company.
Moved from TX back to CA, started at Cal as a pre-med, and joined a research lab in the College of Chemistry.
Research led her to discover that she could combine chemistry & math and decided to major in Applied Mathematics.
Started a class at Cal and co-founded a program in Oakland that exposed students to careers in STEM through fun experiments.
Discovered materials science and started a job at a national lab upon graduating; realized the lack of career knowledge & the need to change that, which led to joining Gajo.
Went to the California State Science Fair in 7th grade, which launched a lifelong love of science; decided to major in Cell and Molecular Biology
Went viral on TikTok for my fourth video ever & have kept creating ever since.
Discovered a lack of information revolving around college & admissions & built a TikTok to make college more accessible for all
